Brief Profile:
Dr. Pradeep Singh holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Raipur, and an M.Tech. in Software Engineering from the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India. He is currently the working as Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, National Institute of Technology Raipur. With over twenty years of experience in various government and reputed engineering institutes, Dr. Singh has established himself as a distinguished academic and researcher. His current research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Image Processing.
Dr. Singh has an impressive publication record, with over 150 refereed articles in journals, conference proceedings, and books. His research work has been published in prestigious journals, including IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, and Swarm and Evolutionary Computation.
Dr. Singh has demonstrated exemplary leadership in research and innovation as the Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) of multiple nationally funded research projects, amounting to a total financial outlay of over ₹524.43 lakhs (₹5.24 crores). These projects span a broad range of interdisciplinary domains including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning for Industrial Forecasting, AI in Healthcare, Precision Agriculture, and Smart Transportation Systems.
He has organized Six international conferences technically sponsored by IE and CSI and has been a member of the organizing committee for several IEEE international conferences in India and abroad. Dr. Singh has also visited several universities in Singapore, Spain, and Croatia, Indonesia.
Under his guidance, eight scholars have obtained their Ph.D. degrees, and six more are currently working towards their doctorate. Dr. Singh has delivered numerous invited talks and plenary conference and seminar presentations across the country and has chaired technical sessions at international and national conferences in India.
He is an active reviewer for several prominent journals, including those published by IEEE and Elsevier. Dr. Singh is a Senior member of the IEEE Computer Society, the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology, the Computer Society of India, the International Association of Engineers, and the Association for Computing Machinery.
Dr. Singh is AMONGST THE TOP 1000 RESEARCHERS IN THE COUNTRY ( Based on academic output in SCOPUS indexed journals, citation counts and h-index). He is also recognized as one of the World's Top 2% Researchers and Influential Scientists in 2023, 2024 and 2025 by Stanford University in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing (The list was prepared by Scientists from Stanford University USA & Published by Elsevier).
Recently he has been awarded the prestigious Responsible AI-Themed Projects under the Safe & Trusted AI Pillar of the IndiaAI Mission, by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. Through his academic leadership and interdisciplinary research, Dr. Pradeep Singh continues to inspire innovation, societal impact, and technological advancement in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
